(Moorpark, California) October 20, 2025—Moorpark Unified School District has announced the appointment of Terri Allison as its new Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation.

The Moorpark Unified Board of Education approved the hire on Oct. 14 with a unanimous vote. Allison will assume her new role on Nov. 10.

“There are very few people who bring the depth of experience and professional background that Terri does,” Superintendent Kelli Hays said. “Her architectural expertise and leadership in facilities management will be invaluable as we implement our Facility Master Plan to maintain, modify and modernize our schools and district operations.”

Allison joins Moorpark Unified with nearly three decades of experience in facilities management, construction planning and operations. She currently serves as Director of Facilities for Ventura Unified School District, where she has led districtwide facilities, maintenance and operations services since 2022.

In that role, Allison oversaw school site maintenance and construction operations, ensuring campuses were safe, efficient and well maintained. She managed bond and state-funded projects, guided long-term facilities planning, and worked closely with architects, engineers and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Her work included managing modernization projects, maintaining eligibility for state facilities grants, and coordinating with the City of Ventura Planning and Historic Committees to ensure compliance with Division of the State Architect requirements. She also led energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across school sites.

Before becoming director, Allison served Ventura Unified as facilities manager and facilities planner. Earlier in her career, she worked in healthcare and architectural settings, including Eisenhower Medical Center in the Palm Springs area and San Diego-based AVRP Architecture, where she managed design teams, secured construction permits and oversaw building projects from planning through completion.

Allison holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She lives in Ventura with her husband and daughter.

As Moorpark Unified’s Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation, Allison will oversee facilities maintenance, custodial services, operations management and the district’s transportation department.

She will play a central role in long-range planning to ensure schools and district facilities remain safe, efficient and well maintained for students and staff.

“I’m honored to join Moorpark Unified,” Allison said. “I look forward to contributing to the success of students and staff by applying my experience to advance the district’s mission, inspire learning and foster community pride.”

Allison said she is excited to work alongside the district’s Maintenance, Operations and Transportation team “whose commitment, skill and pride in their work are essential to creating safe, welcoming and well maintained schools where students can thrive.”
