stage with the words: MHS Spring Productions

(Moorpark, California) Jan. 10, 2025—Moorpark High School’s Performing Arts program has released details about its two productions scheduled for February and April. Audiences can look forward to a mix of classic comedy and Broadway-inspired storytelling, showcasing the talents of MHS students in the award-winning program.

The first production, “You Can't Take It With You,” will debut at the Moorpark High School Performing Arts Center on Feb. 26, 27, and 28, with performances starting at 6 p.m. each evening.

This Pulitzer Prize-winning play by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart is a heartwarming comedy about the eccentric Sycamore family and the chaos that ensues when their unconventional lifestyle collides with the uptight Kirby family. A story of love, individuality and the importance of happiness, this classic 1930s era production combines comedy with a heartfelt story.

Following the winter production, Moorpark High School Performing Arts will present “Hadestown” as its highly anticipated spring musical.

Performances will take place on April 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26, with showtimes at 6 p.m. on Thursdays, 7 p.m. on Fridays, and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturdays.

Inspired by Greek mythology, “Hadestown” is the Tony Award-winning musical that reimagines the stories of Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone through a contemporary lens, blending soul-stirring music with powerful storytelling.

Tickets for both productions can be purchased on GoFan.co.
