Program Objective:  To serve the needs of academically gifted and talented (GATE) students and other high achieving students through advanced learning opportunities providing a qualitatively differentiated curriculum, acceleration, depth and complexity in mathematics, science, language arts and history honors classes in grades 6, 7 and 8.

Honors student placement:   Students may qualify for one or more honors classes at grades 6, 7 and 8 under the following criteria

GATE student placement:  GATE students will be placed in all four honors classes as incoming 6^th graders.  GATE students will be placed in at least two honors classes at 7^th and 8^th grade even if they do not qualify under the criteria listed below.
