Welcome to the Chaparral Middle School School Site Council page. 

All current members and other parents, students and community members who are interested in participating at council meetings this year should attend. As several of our parent members are moving on to the high school with their child, we really need your participation.

What are School Site Councils? 
School Site Councils (SSC) are part of the Moorpark Unified School District's school improvement program.  Each school has its own SSC which develops a school plan and monitors the school's progress toward implementing and meeting the goals of the plan.  Council membership consists of school staff and teachers, parents and community members, and students.  Council meetings are always open to everyone.  Voting members are selected from the individuals who are interested in serving in that capacity.  Parent and student membership shuld be reflective of the school community as a whole.

Only one of the above terms will extend into the 2010-11 school year so there will be a number of openings for parent members in the upcoming year.  If you are interested in volunteering in this way, contact Linda Hussey or plan on attending the first meeting of the year in October.
