  School Site Council

Welcome to the Chaparral Middle School School Site Council page.

All current members and other parents, students and community members who are interested in participating at council meetings this year should attend. As several of our parent members are moving on to the high school with their child, we really need your participation.

Meeting Dates for 2016-17:
(Due to current budget restrictions, the role of School Site Council will again be diminished this year.  We feel that the year's business can be concluded in three meetings.  See dates below.)

December 8, 2016
February 23, 2017
May 18, 2017 (TBD)
All meetings will begin @ 8:00 a.m. in room 27

What are School Site Councils?
School Site Councils (SSC) are part of the Moorpark Unified School District's school improvement program.  Each school has its own SSC which develops a school plan and monitors the school's progress toward implementing and meeting the goals of the plan.  Council membership consists of school staff and teachers, parents and community members, and students.  Council meetings are always open to everyone.  Voting members are selected from the individuals who are interested in serving in that capacity.  Parent and student membership shuld be reflective of the school community as a whole.

If you have any questions about SSC, you may contact Kathy Lashus at 378-6302.
