  OUR SCHOOL MISSION

Chaparral Middle School is committed to equipping ALL students with the academic and social competencies needed for them to be productive members of the world in which they will live. We believe that students must be taught responsibility, how to make decisions,  and the communication skills that will be needed for them to function in a global society. Learning must occur in an environment free from prejudice and harassment, and rich in mutual respect. It is our belief, then, that we must implement programs and create conditions that maximize learning success for ALL students. We are dedicated to helping students "become their best."

ACT is for everyone

ACT (Achieving Character Together) is a one-day retreat that we offer three times per year.  We strongly encourage all our students to take advantage of this opportunity to build self confidence and a sense of community (and have fun, too!) before they move on to the high school.  Students who attend in 6th or 7th grade will also have an opportunity to apply to be an ACT student leader as an 8th grader.  ACT retreat applications are always available on-line on the ACT page and in the main office.

Some of our ACT leaders participated in making a "commercial" that was presented in homerooms this month.  Check it out:  ACT commercial

Historical Figure Day Notice from Principal

Principal Carroll is sending a letter home to the parents of our 8th grade History students.  It will inform them of a change that has been made regarding the selection of historical personages for Historical Figure Day.  To read a copy of this letter check link below:

Make Good Use of Agenda Book

Every student should have received a Chaparral Agenda Book the first day of school. Not only is this a valuable planner for students to note homework assignments and other events/projects but it can also be used as a communication tool between parents and teachers.

For your convenience, important school information and policies are included in the front pages. Parents should periodically check their students' agenda book. Messages to teachers can be noted in the agenda book or sent via email.

A copy of this year's agenda book is posted on this website (see Helpful Links above). The school calendar is subject to change. Always refer to the
Calendar page for updates.

Students must replace lost or damaged agenda books. Fee = $10
