Elective offerings at Chaparral!

Elective choices offered to students at Chaparral include:

Band/Orchestra - Mr. Brown

Chorus - Mrs. Koch

Graphic Arts - Mr. Marzec

Health - Ms. Hatch

Computers - Mr. Marzec

ASB-Student Government - Mr. Kent

Spanish - Mrs. Simon

Band, Orchestra, and Chorus are year long electives. Graphic arts, computer, careers, and music appreciation are some of the classes provided to students in 6th-8th grades through a "wheel" - one trimester for each class. 7th graders on the wheel rotate through one trimester of health class. ASB (Student Government) is a year long elective for 8th graders.

A one-year Spanish class (equivalent to first year high school Spanish) is offered to 8th graders who meet the prerequisite grade requirement. Office Aide and Teacher Aide are also options for 8th graders with teacher recommendation.
