Arroyo West School is “Green”
In an effort to save the Earth and raise money for our school, Arroyo West will hold a Recycling Roundup monthly. Students and parents are asked to save their recyclables (rinsed aluminum cans, milk jugs and plastic bottles - no paper, please) and bring them to school. See the dates below for our targeted items. Then, once a month on Recycle Roundup Day, all the items are collected and taken to the recycling center.
We’ve had a successful year recycling plastic water bottles, milk cartons and soda cans!!
So far Arroyo West School has made
$1,380.00!!!
(that is almost 400 yards of recycled materials!)
This year we raised money to fund:
□ Michael Katz Storyteller Assembly & Workshops
□ Penny Drive to help the Moorpark Food Pantry
□ Pay It Forward Day
□ Helping Hands For Haiti – American Red Cross
□ Character Building BMX Stunt Show Assembly
Many thanks to all the students, staff and parents who participated in the recycling program, and to Mrs. Levy, Mrs. Hampe, Mr. Nepstad & Mr. Tupen for helping to transport our collected recyclables to the recycling center.
