Homework Policy
Homework is designed to develop positive attitudes and work habits that expand content knowledge.  Classroom instruction and homework are both based on California Grade Level Content Standards.  It is the intention of the Moorpark Unified School District staff to assign relevant, challenging and meaningful homework that reinforces classroom learning objectives.  Homework also serves to develop individual study skills and responsibility while strengthening academic skills and knowledge of concepts.  Although parental support is encouraged, the work should be performed by the pupil.

The following are Board adopted guidelines for homework assignments:

Grades 2 & 3  Homework assignments on a regular basis, approximately 30 minutes daily or 2 hours weekly.
Grades 4 & 5  Homework assignments on a regular basis, approximately 60 minutes daily or 4 hours weekly.

Homework Club
The PTA provides homework help each Wednesday during lunch.  Students may attend for a supervised work time in the Multi-purpose Room when they finish lunch.  Thank you, PTA!
