Home Independent Study for grades K-8

Complete Freedom to Learn.

Meeting all state standards, our program works with families to prepare today's learners to be tomorrow's leaders.

Home Independent Study

Our program is available free to students who live in or near the Moorpark Unified School District. We offer flexible and challenging curriculum for home schoolers. We provide lesson plans, materials, and textbooks. Students in the Home Independent Study Program have access to library, computers, math tutorials, field trips, and other special activities.

Education can be tailored to the unique interests, talents, schedule, and learning style of your child. High quality instruction at home encourages students to learn at their own pace and fosters quality, meaningful family time and enhances family communication and closeness.

Students and parents meet weekly or monthly with a credentialed teacher to collaboratively plan lessons and activities that meet their students' individual needs. Experienced and caring teachers are available for consultation, with special attention and support for struggling learners as well as opportunities for acceleration and extension for students who need additional challenge. Once a week, students are invited to attend a full day of enrichment classes such as science, art, music, writing, Spanish, and math.

With complete freedom to learn, a walk to the creek becomes a science lesson in wind power.
