 Message From Our District Nurse
Head Lice

Head lice are a nuisance but they are not associated with any disease. Current research shows that they are spread through prolonged head to head contact at home, during sleepovers and at campouts.  MUSD aligns with the recommendations from major medical groups for the management of lice at school. Students found with live (crawling) lice will be sent home. Once the student has been treated, he/she can return to school after being checked by the school nurse.  If a few nits (eggs) remain, the student can come back to class. The school staff will maintain the privacy of students identified as having head lice, and we ask that our parents do the same.

Los piojos son una molestia pero no se asocian con ninguna enfermedad. La investigación actual muestra que se extienden a través del contacto prolongado de cabeza a cabeza en casa, fiestas de pijamas y campamentos. MUSD se alinea con las recomendaciones de grupos médicos para el tratamiento de piojos en la escuela. Los estudiantes con piojos vivos (rastreros) serán enviados a casa. Una vez que el estudiante ha sido tratado, él o ella puede regresar a la escuela después de ser revisado por la enfermera de la escuela. Si quedan algunas liendres (huevos), el estudiante puede volver a clase. El personal de la escuela mantendrá la privacidad de los estudiantes identificados como teniendo piojos, y pedimos que nuestros padres lo mismo.

 Message From Our Principal
2015-2016 School Plan
Water Conservation

As a result of the drought MUSD is actively conserving water throughout our campus.  There are many ways that this is being accomplished and one of those is through turf conversion.  Gold is the New Green!  Many grass areas at the school site are being replaced with mulch and drought resistant native plants such as red bud trees, mallow, sage, etc.  In addition, the large field will have a mulched border with added trees for shade and a running path.  Once completed the new spaces will be beautiful.  Please pardon the “mess” while we work to conserve water and create beautiful spaces for our school.

 Playground Safety Reminders Minimize

Please follow these important safety rules when you are on the playground:

STUDENTS: Only Mountain Meadows students may play on the playground.  Younger and older siblings who are not Mountain Meadows’ students may not play on the playground.  All students must play by Mountain Meadows’ school rules at all times.

PARENTS
: Parents are welcome to walk their students to the playground, but please remember that games and equipment are for students only.  Parents are welcome to join us on Fridays for our weekly Spirit Assembly.

EVERYONE:
Please follow the directions of the Campus Aides for the safety of all of our students.

What you need to do:

●      Find the supply list for your child’s grade by going to this link

●      Click on the purchase button (“Add Full List”), you can then go to the shopping cart to edit the list by increasing the number of items or deleting items.  Included in the “Add Full List” purchases is a Classroom Wish list at the bottom.  You may increase the amount you would like to contribute to the classroom by increasing the number purchased using the + or – in the shopping cart list.

How it works:

●      Supplies are shipped directly to you within 5 business days, sometimes sooner - free shipping.2

●      Supplies are shipped directly to the classroom (before school starts).

●      You spend time at the beach rather than looking for 3-hole punched eco-friendly folders in magenta… It’s that simple! 

When:

The deadline to purchase supplies is August 16th to ensure your classroom has supplies for the 1st day of school. However, we recommend you purchase supplies as soon as possible to help us lock inventory for the start of school.  Parents are allowed to purchase supplies past the deadline; however we cannot guarantee that classroom supplies will be delivered on the 1st day of school.
