 MISSION STATEMENT

The High School @ Moorpark College, a collaborative partnership with the Ventura Community College District, Moorpark College, Moorpark Unified School District, as well as the community, is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and innovative educational experience through interdisciplinary learning communities and high academic standards that produce responsible citizens, effective communicators, and creative problem solvers who have a passion for learning and are capable of achieving their full potential with the skills to successfully compete in an ever-changing global environment.

 
Expected School Wide Learning Results

The ESLRS have been developed collaboratively with input from parents, students, our high school faculty and staff, as well as input from Moorpark College faculty and Moorpark Unified School District administration.

The High School @ Moorpark College students will demonstrate:

·         Academic Integrity:  Students will have the opportunity to develop the four I’s:

  Interest, Initiative, Integrity and Intellect

·         Communication Skills:  Students will become effective communicators in verbal, written, and technological modalities

·         Critical Thinking: Students will develop critical thinking skills

·         Global, Community and Personal Awareness:  Students will have opportunities to develop awareness of other cultures, including their own

The High School @ Moorpark College is an academic program for highly capable 11th and 12th graders who want to get ahead and earn tuition-free college credit.  The HS@MC is located on the Moorpark College campus and integrated into the college environment. The HS@MC allows students to receive college credit while earning their high school diploma.
  • Concurrent high school and college enrollment
  • High school classes currently from 1:00pm to 5:30pm Monday-Thursday, and 9:00am-12:00pm Friday

 Immunization Info

AB 354:  THE NEW 7th – 12th GRADE CALIFORNIA IMMUNIZATION LAW

Starting in July, 2011, ALL 7th – 12th grade students must have proof of having had the Tdap booster shot before starting either public or private school.  Students WILL NOT be allowed to start school without this immunization. 

All returning students please provide proof to the HSMC office as soon as possible in order to avoid a rush in August.  All new students will need to provide proof as part of their enrollment process.  The office is closed the month of July.
